For a practicing Buddhist, the awakening experience of the Buddha is the major event in world history, as it provides the basic orientation for understanding the means and the goals of Buddhist practice. The Pali Canon contains many different accounts of the awakening, bringing out different facets of what is useful to know about it. This program will focus on exploring these facets, and their practical implications for the practice.
