2026 Program Overview

What sustains your practice? What helps you feel grounded, connected, and inspired along the path? Our 2026 programs are designed with these questions in mind, welcoming both new and seasoned practitioners into a community of study, meditation, and spiritual friendship.

In this short video, William Edelglass, our Director of Studies, shares reflections on our 2026 offerings. Whether you are beginning your exploration of Buddhism or returning for another retreat, you’ll find opportunities to deepen your practice, discover fresh perspectives, and build meaningful relationships.

As one of the few retreat centers dedicated to integrating Buddhist study and practice, BCBS offers a rare refuge for those seeking both understanding and transformation. Our intimate scale also fosters genuine connection—with teachers, fellow practitioners, and the living tradition itself.

Among the perennial favorites, you’ll find Leigh Brasington’s Jhana Retreat and Gateway to Chan with GuoGu. These programs continue to draw practitioners back year after year, offering trusted gateways into deep practice.

We’re also opening new doors with retreats that bring forward voices and practices too rarely heard in Western Buddhism. These include Yahel Avigur’s retreats on Rob Burbea’s Jhana and Emptiness teachings, Tuere Sala’s Nine Bodies Retreat, and Thanissara and Kittisaro’s retreat on the Kuan Yin Dharmas, which bridges Theravāda and Mahāyāna traditions through ritual and devotion.

Other highlights include Black Spirituals and Protest Songs: Singing for Liberation, an Asian American Buddhist Writers Retreat, and programs with respected Theravāda nuns whose voices bring much-needed richness to the Dharma landscape.

We invite you to explore the full schedule and register early—many programs do fill quickly. And if someone you love might be nourished by these offerings, we encourage you to share them. The Dharma has always flourished through the kindness of one person inviting another.

We are deeply grateful to walk this path with you. May these programs offer a place of wisdom, connection, and renewal—for you and for those you invite to join us.
