Finding Freedom in Relaxing the Sense of Self: An Insight Dialogue Retreat

How do we come to experience ourselves as separate or fixed? And what might we discover when we bring mindful attention to that experience?

Grounded in the teachings of the Buddha, this residential Insight Dialogue retreat explores these questions through both silent and relational practice. Drawing on core Buddhist teachings such as impermanence (anicca) and not-self (anattā), we investigate how the sense of self is continually forming in experience.

Mornings are held in silence, supporting a grounding in the body and the cultivation of mindfulness and kind awareness. As the day unfolds, we bring this awareness into speaking and listening with others, practicing mindfulness in relationship as a way of deepening insight.

Within this shared field of practice, we begin to recognize how identification arises and passes based on conditions. As this is seen more clearly, there can be moments when the sense of a solid “I” softens, making space for greater ease, compassion, and freedom.

This retreat is open to both new and experienced practitioners. It offers a structured and supportive environment to explore the Buddha’s teachings in both stillness and relationship.
