This retreat is an invitation to get to know and befriend our heart and mind (citta) and guide it towards its higher potential. The Buddha understood the intense challenges of a human life and instructed us to take care of our heart and mind as though it were our own precious child. Not recognizing the importance of this, we can neglect to take care of our mind, and bombard and clutter it with information that obscures and hinders its true potential. We may also carry old messages of wrongness, or of not being enough. These stories and perceptions cloud our true nature. Strengthening good qualities in ourselves, through cultivating the four Brahma Viharas (heart qualities) and through exploring the liberating teachings of the Buddha, we can cultivate a natural freedom and joy.
Note: There will be some chanting and bowing – retreatants are not required to participate in this and can simply observe
Program Format: There will be silent meditation, guided meditations, Dhamma reflections, chanting, Q&A, and small group practice discussions with the teacher.
