Liberation: A Dialogue Across Buddhist Traditions

What can we say about the qualities of liberation, the radical freedom from samsara? What is liberation like? What key features—impermanence, non-duality, compassion, non-self—characterize this experience? How do such experiences impact our lives and how we respond to the world?

The many lineages of Buddhism address these questions in ways that sometimes converge and sometimes seem quite different. Through dharma talks, conversation, and guided meditation, we will explore liberation through the teachings of these traditions in a way that is grounded in experience.

Program Format: This program will include dharma talks, discussion, guided meditation, and time for conversation.

Noble silence will be observed following each evening session through breakfast the following morning. Additional silent practice periods will be scheduled throughout the program.
