What Do the Suttas Actually Say about the Brahma Viharas?

The Buddha spoke of the importance of Love, Compassion, Appreciative Joy, and Equanimity. But in what contexts? How should these be practiced? What are the benefits of practicing these? What are the implications of manifesting these four sublime abodes? We will dive into the suttas to answer these questions and more. We will also examine these mind states as taught in other traditions, looking for similarities and differences.
