Abraham Dejene

Abraham Dejene, MPH, MBA, RYT, is a meditation and yoga teacher, Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher and trainer, and researcher. His work brings together mindfulness, public health, racial identity, and community healing. He holds a Master of Public Health from Brown University, where he was part of the inaugural cohort specializing in mindfulness, and an MBA from the University of Maryland. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Counseling at Northwestern University.

Abraham is affiliated with the Mindfulness Center at Brown University and Brown’s School of Professional Studies, and serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He has taught in juvenile detention centers, public schools, community organizations, medical and university settings, and has helped lead programs including the Mindful of Race series at Harvard University.

His teaching has also been shaped by time spent in Northern Thailand studying Eastern philosophy. He currently leads meditation and yoga retreats across East Africa and facilitates a mindfulness teacher training program at Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi.
