Special Programs

We offer programs that invite deep engagement with Buddhist study and practice across a wide variety of subjects and Buddhist traditions, most of which are suitable for both beginning and experienced practitioners. Learn more about our Special Programs below.

BCBS Path Programs take place over the course of several months to over a year and include a combination of online and/or residential components. Providing an ongoing relationship with a consistent cohort of participants and teachers over time, our Path Programs foster collective, far-ranging Buddhist inquiry.

BCBS Immersive Online Programs take place through video conferencing over several months and offer convenient access to Buddhist study, practice, and spiritual community all over the world.  Providing an ongoing relationship with a consistent cohort of participants and teachers over time, our Immersive Online Programs foster deep practice and study.

The Barre Center for Buddhist Studies is happy to partner with The Contemplative Semester on its transformative semester of meditation and connection for 18-25-year-olds.

This is a 14-week residential immersion into the depths of the human experience for young adults. Drawing from Buddhist wisdom and meditation practice as the foundation, you will have the chance to deeply connect with yourself, others, and the earth as you explore your unique path to greater peace, love, joy, and purpose.

Touching the Earth is a three-week immersion for young adults (ages 18-25) on a Vermont homestead to cultivate self-awareness and deepen relationships with others and the living earth.

Now in its fourth year, the program offers an opportunity to pause, engage in a sustained period of contemplation in a community of peers and mentors, and reflect on values and callings. A diverse and seasoned faculty guides the exploration of the Buddhist concept of interbeing through ecology, ecopsychology, and social justice.

The Barre Center for Buddhist Studies is happy to partner with the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy on their Certificate Program in Mindfulness & Psychotherapy.

This is a 9-month immersive training for mental health and other healthcare professionals in applying mindfulness to psychotherapy and the delivery of care. Unlike many other professional programs, this program draws heavily on a deeper understanding of mindfulness in the context of a path of awakening, a strong commitment to the creation of a supportive learning community, and support for every student’s personal engagement with practice and the program material.
