Facilities Worker
Type: Part-Time Contractor (1099)
Schedule: Friday – Sunday • 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM • 15hrs/week
Location: Barre, MA (must live close to the BCBS Campus)
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Overall Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of campus buildings, grounds, lands, and infrastructure
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Take direction and accomplish tasks independently in a timely and efficient manner
Sample tasks:
- Light carpentry
- Groundskeeping: raking/leaf blowing, lawn mowing, planting, weeding, mulching
- Brush clearing
- Snow removal and pathway sanding
- Repairing or replacing light switches, electrical outlets, doors, and cabinet hardware
- Diagnosing and repairing plumbing fixtures when possible
- Cleaning gutters
- Repairing window screens
- Small painting jobs
- Cleaning and organizing facility/maintenance spaces
- Basic tool and equipment maintenance
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
- Basic understanding of building systems
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a diverse team
- Ability to work weekends with flexibility to work other hours occasionally.
Compensation & Application:
Pay rate: $20-22 per hour
