We are pleased to welcome Vivien Roman-Hampton as BCBS’ new Volunteer Librarian. Vivien has always wanted to work in a library. This opportunity merges her dharma practice and mindfulness practice with volunteer work as she continues doing the job she loves as a clinical social worker.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Group Practice Founder of a Mental Health practice in Massachusetts. Our practice serves marginalized communities and their allies as we work to provide accessible mental health and wellness offerings. I am also the Outreach & Teacher Development Coordinator and Teacher Trainer at The Center for Koru Mindfulness.
I have been fortunate enough to participate in offerings here at the Barre Center, and one day saw a post about a volunteer request for a new librarian. I have always loved books and, if not a therapist, would have been a librarian, so it felt like an opportunity I couldn’t pass up! The staff at Barre couldn’t be more welcoming and generous in spirit, and I get to be surrounded by books filled with Buddhist teachings in an environment that invites reflection and serenity!
