2022 Year-End Appeal

Dear Friends,
We are so happy to be welcoming full classes of yogis back for residential study and practice programs here at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. We are also continuing to offer innovative online programming accessible to folks around the world.
We are launching our 2022 year-end appeal–our single most important fundraising effort of the year. And we are asking you to help us fulfill our mission of sharing the liberating teachings of the Buddha for the benefit of all.
As has always been the case in our 31-year history, your generous support is crucial to the continued flourishing of BCBS now and into the future. The cost of running the study center has gone up significantly this past year, and the need for financial aid has increased. Thanks to your past generosity we have provided over $90,000 in scholarships this year. With your financial help today we will be able to continue offering these nourishing teachings to all who are interested.
Over the past couple of years, with investments in building insulation, efficient lighting, and the installation of heat pumps for heating and cooling, we have significantly reduced the fossil fuel usage on our 90 acre campus. We now plan to add significant solar capacity and shift to renewable energy, as we seek to embody the Buddhist value of non-harming in the face of climate change. We are also moving forward with plans to create more outdoor spaces on campus and in the surrounding woods for small group gatherings and individual contemplation.
With humility and deep gratitude, we invite you to support and sustain this refuge for the study and practice of Buddhist wisdom.
Thank you for being part of the BCBS community.
Warmly,

Richard Henning
Executive Director
