A mind-heart which is flexible and at ease in the midst of the chronically stressful conditions of our lives is a tremendous gift to ourselves and others. Developing the ability to be fully embodied and open-hearted in the face of difficulty, and connected with awareness of mind in our activities will decrease our reactivity and increase resiliency

Enjoy a weekend of quiet sitting and walking meditation, which allow our body & mind to settle down and our hearts to open to an inner wisdom. In addition to insight meditation practice, Heather will offer teachings based on the Buddha’s teaching of the Fire Sermon and guided meditations on the theme, as well as optional Qi Gong practice and discussion about how to live these teachings in our daily lives.

In this online weekend-long program, we will explore:

  • Five Somatic Practices to support a Resilient nervous system, particularly in the face of long-term collective reactivity
  • Applying the Buddha’s teaching of the Fire Sermon to practicing in a world full of triggers and reactions
  • Gratitude, Compassion, and Equanimity practices
  • Reflections and dialog on our toolkit to work with internal, interpersonal, and collective reactivity.
