"Free and empty mind" points to the heart of our practice of Dhamma. Ajahn Buddhadasa, the great 20th century Thai forest monk, coined this term to link teachings such as emptiness, luminous mind, “in seeing just see,” breathing without a breather, not holding views, and “nibbāna you can see.” All of these frames can be found in Buddha's Pali suttas and may guide us in finding liberation daily. These perspectives are among the overlooked riches in the Pali suttas. In this weekend we will undertake a close study of the relevant suttas, meditate in silence, and experiment with practices derived from the ultimate satipaṭṭhāna.
