Program Description:

‘Citta’ is perhaps the single most important reference point in Buddhist practice; it is that which is subject to ignorance and has the potential for liberation. Although the word is often translated as ‘mind’, in practice ‘mind’ falls short of the scope and the intimacy of ‘citta’. In this program, ways of revealing and clearing citta, through meditation, inquiry, Qi Gong, and relational practices will be explored. Those wishing to attend should have completed at least one ten-day meditation retreat. Study discussions will be framed by group meditations at the beginning and end of each day. (Participants will have the opportunity to take eight precepts and abstain from dinner. A simple dinner will be offered to those who do not take the eight precepts.)

Prerequisites:
Participants must have completed at least one ten-day silent meditation retreat.
    About the Instructor(s):
  • Ajahn Sucitto became a bhikkhu in Thailand in 1976 but returned to live in his native England in 1978, where he has been involved in the founding of several monasteries in the Thai Forest lineage of Ajahn Chah. After being the Abbot of Cittaviveka (Chithurst Buddhist Monastery) for 22 years he is now focused on enjoying the Dhamma. As part of that he offers teachings and retreats.
